Job Description
This is a remote position.
Fusion Practices is seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Consultant to undertake a critical upgrade project. The consultant will perform upgrades for OCI VM Database Systems from Oracle Enterprise Linux 7 (OEL7) to Oracle Linux 8 (OL8), ensuring SELinux is enabled in compliance with Oracle’s latest guidelines effective from 15th January 2025. This role includes thorough testing, validation, and documentation of the upgraded systems.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Upgrade five OCI VM Database Systems from OEL7 to OL8.
- Ensure SELinux is properly enabled and configured post-upgrade.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of system functionality, including but not limited to:
- Database operations
- Cloud-to-Cloud (C2C) integrations
- SELinux configuration and compliance
- Document all upgrade processes, configurations, testing protocols, and results comprehensively.
Requirements
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) VM Database System administration and upgrades.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle Linux (OEL7 and OL8).
- Strong understanding and experience with SELinux, including configuration, enforcement, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in database administration and validation processes.
- Ability to test and validate complex C2C integrations.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Oracle certifications related to OCI and Oracle Linux would be highly advantageous.
Project Deliverables:
Fully upgraded and SELinux-enabled OCI VM Database Systems.
Validated and tested database functionality and integrations.
Detailed documentation of upgrade processes, configurations, and test results.
