About the position The Enrolled Agent (EA) position at a growing public accounting firm offers a predominantly remote work environment, ideal for tax professionals passionate about tax preparation and advisory services for individuals and small businesses. Responsibilities β’ Prepare and review individual and small business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1065). β’ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws while providing high-quality tax planning services. β’ Work closely with senior tax professionals to support more complex tax filings and resolve tax issues. β’ Manage start-to-finish tax preparation processes for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Requirements β’ Active Enrolled Agent (EA) designation (required). β’ 2+ years of experience in tax preparation with a focus on individual and small business returns. β’ Familiarity with UltraTax CS or similar tax preparation software. β’ Strong knowledge of Michigan tax regulations and compliance requirements. β’ Excellent communication and organizational skills. Nice-to-haves β’ Previous experience in a public accounting firm. β’ Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet client deadlines. β’ Detail-oriented with a passion for providing high-quality client service. β’ Desire to grow and develop in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
