They are seeking a Systems Architect/Engineer to support the NOAA AWIPS program, focusing on modernizing the platform's performance, resiliency, and capability by defining interfaces and overall architecture. Responsibilities β’ Provide technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the full life-cycle development of current and future infrastructure, product generation, and ground command and control components β’ Key member of the requirements development process to ensure solutions meet all functional and performance requirements β’ Ensures project/department milestones are met and adhere to approved budgets β’ Consult with management, customers, and external contractors regarding resources, plans, designs, and implementations β’ Evaluates future cloud architecture, cloud services, and cloud applications β’ Oversee technical design, development, and implementation of system services - Assist with Program Increment Planning β’ Identify technical risks, risk reduction mitigations, and opportunity identification β’ Provide oversight in standards, best practices, and technical specifications Skills β’ Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D β’ 4 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree β’ Experience defining system interfaces, data flows, and integration points β’ Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and distributed operational environments β’ Experience with requirements analysis, CONOPS, and system-level design β’ Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment β’ Proficient with Atlassian Tool Suite β’ Experience with on-prem to cloud migrations β’ Expertise in solution design and development, vendor interaction, and enterprise application support β’ Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, team members, and customers β’ Established project management skills β’ Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust clearance β’ Experience supporting NOAA/AWIPS architecture and system integrations β’ Exceptional technical writing skills β’ Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way β’ Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study β’ Analytical and problem-solving skills β’ Familiarity with data management tools β’ Experience working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices β’ Experience leading projects and process improvement activities to completion with successful outcomes and delivery of desired results β’ Active/Current Public Trust clearance Benefits β’ Medical β’ Dental β’ Vision β’ Life β’ Health savings account β’ Short/long term disability β’ EAP β’ Parental leave β’ 401(k) β’ Paid time off (PTO) for vacation β’ Company paid holidays Company Overview β’ Peraton Fearlessly solving the toughest national security challenges.
