SMC Strategic Solutions / SMCVeda is a company dedicated to delivering specialized staffing and technology solutions to clients worldwide. They are seeking a senior-level .NET / Azure API Developer to design, build, and support APIs and integrations using Azure API Management and Azure services, while working closely with clients and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy Azure-based applications and APIs using C# and .NET • Build and configure RESTful and SOAP APIs with Azure API Management (APIM) • Implement APIM policies for security, throttling, caching, logging, and monitoring • Integrate APIs with backend services, databases, and other Azure components (Functions, App Services, Service Bus, Logic Apps) • Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Azure AD, and client certificates • Work with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Mentor junior developers, perform code reviews, and enforce coding standards and best practices • Contribute to technical documentation, design specs, and operational runbooks Skills • 6–8 years of experience in .NET / C# development with strong API development background • Hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM) for designing, publishing, and securing APIs • Strong experience with Azure services: Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure Storage • Deep understanding of REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, API versioning, error handling, and performance tuning • Solid knowledge of API security: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Azure AD, client certificates, and general Azure security practices • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using Azure DevOps or similar tools for CI/CD, repositories, and work tracking • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent hands-on experience • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders • Experience with microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or event-driven architectures • Background in integration projects involving on-premise systems, third-party APIs, or hybrid cloud environments • Prior experience as a technical lead or senior developer mentoring a team Company Overview • Founded in Canada with subsidiaries in US and India, SMC's mission is to provide specialized staffing and cutting-edge technology solutions for our clients across the globe It was founded in 2025, and is headquartered in Brampton, ON, CA, with a workforce of 11-50 employees.
