Job Title:IT Security Engineer (100% Remote)
Position Type: Contract
Location: Framingham, MA
Primary Skills: Firewall Engineering
- Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and support Genetec access control and CCTV systems
- Configure and program security hardware (cameras, locks, alarms, sensors, etc.)
- Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V, cloud)
- Troubleshoot security systems and ensure everything works correctly
- Set up networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
- Communicate with teams and clients to understand needs and provide custom solutions
- Stay up to date with the latest security technologies and trends
- Maintain technical documentation and system designs
- Provide technical support and user training
- Participate in testing, knowledge sharing, and project meetings
- Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in tech/IT or equivalent experience
- 8+ years working with:
- Genetec access control and video management systems
- Axis and Hanwha cameras
- Installing software like Genetec, Salient, Omnicast, Synergis
- Strong knowledge of networking and server infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with intrusion detection systems (DMP, Bosch preferred)
- Genetec certifications
- Familiar with security system compliance and best practices
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable with both Agile and Waterfall project methods
