HR Generalist (Contract / Temporary)

Position Summary

The HR Generalist will support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function within a 100-person services company. This is a contract / temporary position based in Dallas, with an expected duration of 2โ€“5 months.

The role is responsible for administering HR policies and procedures, supporting employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, and performance management. The HR Generalist serves as a key liaison between the division and corporate HR, ensuring alignment with company-wide initiatives while addressing the unique needs of the business unit.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, responding to day-to-day HR questions and providing guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate coordination, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws by maintaining up-to-date and compliant HR practices.
  • Partner with the Corporate Learning & Development team to coordinate training programs and professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS and ensure timely reporting and data integrity.
  • Prepare and submit Certified Payroll reports in accordance with legal, contractual, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with payroll and benefits teams to support efficient and accurate HR operations.
  • Participate in divisional and organization-wide HR projects and initiatives that support continuous improvement and business objectives.
  • Travel as needed to support divisional or organizational needs.

Qualifications

    Required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a multi-site or divisional environment.
  • Direct experience preparing and filing Certified Payroll reports (required).
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and human resources best practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
    Preferred
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP.
