Chief Estimator – Sitework & Paving
$150,000+ | Open to Remote | Commercial Civil & Paving
Elite Parking Area Maintenance is a well-established commercial paving and sitework contractor serving Long Island and the Northeastern United States. We specialize in building and maintaining large parking facilities, retail centers, multifamily developments, distribution hubs, and municipal properties. (No residential work.)
As our project volume continues to grow, we are expanding our Preconstruction & Estimating Department and are seeking a senior-level estimator who wants more than just performing takeoffs. This role is designed for a professional who wants ownership over bid strategy, pricing, scope control, and department leadership.
This position reports directly to company ownership and plays a critical role in determining which projects we pursue, how they are priced, and how profitable they become.
Work Location & Structure
This position is open to fully remote candidates. On-site presence in Oakdale, NY is not required, though occasional travel or in-person collaboration may be beneficial depending on project needs and leadership initiatives.

- Key Responsibilities
- Manage all incoming bid opportunities, deadlines, and scope development
- Assign, coordinate, and review takeoffs performed by remote estimating staff
- Validate quantities for asphalt, concrete, earthwork, drainage, and sitework
- Perform or oversee digital takeoffs using PlanSwift and Bluebeam
- Develop project budgets, pricing models, and bid proposals
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Lead value engineering and scope optimization efforts
- Coordinate with field operations, project managers, vendors, and ownership
- Ensure all bids are accurate, complete, competitive, and professionally presented
- Required Qualifications
- 5+ years estimating experience in civil, sitework, paving, or heavy construction
- Strong PlanSwift proficiency (or comparable takeoff software) — required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to read and interpret grading, drainage, and utility plans
- Experience estimating commercial parking lots, roadways, and civil infrastructure
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and remote estimating resources
