Ready to build and lead one of the most important operational engines behind a rapidly growing consumer goods brand? VelvetCaviar.com is hiring a Senior Demand Planner to oversee inventory forecasting, demand planning, inventory strategy, and cross-functional coordination across all sales channels.
Own end-to-end demand forecasting and inventory strategy across all our website, Amazon, and wholesale partners. Lead S&OP, align production with sales forecasts, and optimize inventory to support growth while protecting cash flow and margin.
This is a strategic leadership role focused on aligning Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure sustainable growth, strong inventory health, and operational scalability. The ideal candidate thrives in high-growth environments and understands how disciplined forecasting and inventory planning protect both revenue and margin.

What you’ll do:
- Forecasting & Planning
- Own forecasting and demand planning across DTC and wholesale
- Monitor and build SKU-level forecasts by channel weekly and monthly
- Manage Demand Planning Analysts for expedited projections
- Translate sales plans into consolidated demand forecasts
- Own rolling 3–12 month demand projections
- S&OP Leadership
- Lead weekly S&OP meetings
- Align Sales, Operations, Finance, and Logistics
- Drive decision-making around production timing and inventory risk
- Maintain forecast accuracy targets
- Inventory Strategy
- Set safety stock and weeks-of-supply targets
- Optimize inventory turns and working capital
- Identify stockout and excess risk early
- Deplete overstock inventory before expiration
- Guide air vs sea freight decisions with Logistics
- Align production planning with demand forecasts
- Production Alignment
- Partner with factories on production timing
- Ensure inbound freight aligns with demand plan
- Balance retail commitments vs DTC needs
- Analytics & Reporting
- Own forecast accuracy reporting
- Track inventory health KPIs (below)
- Build dashboards for leadership
- Model margin impact of inventory decisions
- Your Success Metrics:
- Forecasting Accuracy
- Inventory turn speed
- In-stock rate and on-time inventory
- Excess & obsolete inventory
- Air freight exposure vs Sea
- Working capital tied in inventory
- Inventory visibility and reporting accuracy
- Team development and retention
- Requirements:
- 6-8+ years in demand planning and supply chain for consumer goods
- Experience planning for thousands of SKUs and millions of units turnover
- Experience managing forecasting & planning across both DTC + wholesale
- Strong understanding and leadership for S&OP processes
- Strong alignment with sales and operations team leadership
- Experience working with 3PL fulfillment partners
- Advanced Excel + demand planning tools (NetSuite, SAP, Xoro, etc.)
- Strong financial acumen (inventory cash flow modeling)
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on as needed
- Highly analytical and data-driven
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
