CityLight Next Gen Director
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Primary Emphasis: Kids Ministry Operations (65–75%) | Youth Oversight & Coaching (25–35%)
About CityLight Church
CityLight launched in January 2019 with a mission to move people from where they are to where God wants them to be. We are located minutes from the University of Florida’s campus and just 90 minutes from the beaches. We are seeking a strategic, pastoral leader to strengthen and oversee our Next Generation ministries.
This role is designed to provide leadership, development, and operational excellence—particularly in Kids Ministry—while offering coaching and oversight to Youth Ministry.
Role Summary
The Next Gen Director provides strategic oversight of all ministries birth–12th grade, with primary responsibility for leading and strengthening CityLight Kids (birth–5th grade).
This role ensures operational excellence, healthy systems, volunteer development, and alignment across Kids and Youth ministries. The Director serves as the full time staff lead and pastoral guide to the volunteer Youth Minister and youth team to support inter-ministry communication and strategy.
- Key ResponsibilitiesKids Ministry Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Lead all operations of Kids Ministry (birth–5th grade).
- Plan and execute weekly services and discipleship programming.
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers.
- Oversee safety, environments, and systems (Planning Center).
- Lead key events (VBS, family events, team gatherings).
- Maintain strong communication and partnership with parents.
- Youth Ministry Oversight
- Provide coaching, accountability, and pastoral support to volunteer Youth Director and teams.
- Strengthen leadership development and discipleship pathways.
- Ensure alignment with church vision and ministry standards.
- Offer guidance on events, systems, and volunteer culture.
- Leadership & Administration
- Develop a unified Next Gen discipleship strategy.
- Manage budgets, supplies, and ministry systems.
- Communicate regularly with families.
- Participate in staff meetings and church-wide strategy.
