We're seeking a reliable, customer-focused individual to join our part-time team as a Parks and Recreation Ambassador. In this dynamic role, you'll provide top-notch customer service, handle cash transactions, and assist with various park-related activities. - *Key Responsibilities:**
- Greet visitors and groups, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Offer information about arenaflex's parks, programs, and services, ensuring visitors have a positive experience
- Handle cash transactions, including working as a cashier, assisting with set-up and sales, balancing a register, and completing night deposits
- Respond to customer inquiries via in-person interactions, phone calls, and emails, resolving concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
- Direct visitors to relevant resources for additional information or assistance
- Assist with the registration and renewal of park memberships, program registrations, facility rentals, and merchandise sales
- Educate visitors on park rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
- Monitor park areas for compliance with safety guidelines, reporting any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure park areas are clean and well-maintained, reporting any maintenance issues or hazards to the relevant department
- Work collaboratively with other park staff and departments, attending team meetings and training sessions as required
- Assist with administrative duties, such as data entry, filing, and record-keeping
- Compile and prepare reports related to customer service activities
- Provide traffic control and preparation for parking lots on special event days and other occasions as required
- Project a positive image in both conduct and appearance, observing and enforcing all arenaflex Rules and Regulations
- *Essential Qualifications:**
- Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy
- Basic computer skills for data entry and communication
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of cash control procedures
- Ability to use a cash register
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Knowledge or interest in parks and outdoor activities
- Experience working in a customer-facing role or in a similar environment
- Familiarity with arenaflex's parks and programs
- *Training and Development:**
- For some positions, employees must complete 15 hours of training and/or pre-season orientation, covering topics such as CPR, First Aid, Back Safety, Fire Safety, Customer Service, Cultural Diversity, Sexual Harassment, Inclusion, and the arenaflex Orientation for New and Returning Employees

- *Working and Physical Conditions:**
- Environmental Conditions: Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to office computer screens; work on slippery or uneven surfaces; work in or around water; exposure to poison flora, insects, or other animal diseases; exposure to extremes in weather conditions (all types of weather); exposure to human health issues; exposure to various chemicals (ex. water-quality testing chemicals); at times will work alone at parks and nature centers
- Physical Conditions: Responsibilities and duties require maintaining the physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, climbing, and walking for prolonged periods and leading hikes over varied terrain, including steps and hills
- Occasional light or moderate lifting and carrying required; occasionally required to use hands to finger, occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to distinguish colors, and the ability to adjust focus; must speak clearly and audibly
- *Compensation and Benefits:**
- Part-time employees work up to 30 hours per week
