The Opportunity Ulteig is seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior CAD/BIM Specialist to support the preparation, management, and delivery of high‑quality land survey drawings and 3D models for a wide range of projects across multiple markets. This role is critical to translating field‑collected survey data into accurate, organized, and client‑ready CAD/BIM products. The Senior CAD/BIM Specialist provides advanced drafting and modeling expertise, ensures adherence to surveying standards, and supports project success through precision, consistency, and collaboration with Professional Land Surveyors and multidisciplinary teams. What You'll Do Working closely with Professional Land Surveyors, field crews, engineers, and project managers, the Senior CAD/BIM Specialist will support the creation and coordination of survey‑based CAD and BIM deliverables. Responsibilities include managing survey data workflows, preparing detailed drawings, and maintaining CAD/BIM standards for the surveying discipline. Key responsibilities include:
Develop high‑accuracy survey base maps, topographic surfaces, alignments, and 3D models from field‑collected data (GPS, total station, LiDAR, photogrammetry). Import, process, and organize raw survey data, point clouds, and scan datasets for CAD/BIM integration using Trimble Business Center (TBC). Prepare boundary, ALTA/NSPS, route, right‑of‑way, subdivision, easement, and construction survey drawings. Create digital terrain models (DTMs), surfaces, corridors, and point files using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads. Perform quality checks on survey data, drawings, and models to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project and industry standards. Support Survey Project Managers with drafting, modeling, and design visualization needs. Maintain and enhance CAD/BIM templates, layer standards, survey symbols, block libraries, and digital workflows for the Survey Team. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of survey deliverables into design models. Train and mentor junior CAD technicians and survey staff on drafting standards, software use, and best practices. Support the adoption of emerging remote sensing surveying technologies such as LiDAR, sUAS photogrammetry, and reality capture workflows. What We Expect from You Associate degree in Surveying, Drafting, Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or a related field (preferred but not required). Minimum of 6-8 years of CAD/BIM experience within the land surveying profession. Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer, specifically for survey workflows (required). Experience working with survey datasets:
points, point clouds, breaklines, surfaces, alignments, and corridors. Proficiency with Trimble Business Center (TBC) or comparable survey data processing platforms (preferred). Understanding of surveying concepts, including coordinate systems, datums, geodesy, and field‑to‑finish workflows. Experience producing boundary, ALTA/NSPS, route, topographic, and construction survey drawings (required). Familiarity with LiDAR, sUAS photogrammetry, or other reality capture technologies (preferred). Strong file management, data organization, and version control practices. Ability to interpret legal descriptions, right‑of‑way documents, plats, and survey control information. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement. Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $91,100 - $123,200/year • Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job-specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role.
