We are seeking a researcher to support and lead different aspects of research and evaluation studies, and technical assistance projects. Tasks include recruitment, data collection and management, analyses, meeting facilitation, and report writing, with supervision. Summary of Essential Job Functions • Work with teams to design, implement, and manage high-quality, large-scale quantitative and mixed methods research and evaluation projects • Conduct classroom observations, interviews, focus groups, and administers surveys • Assemble, clean, manage, and analyze large longitudinal data sets derived from multiple sources • Perform core analytic tasks and statistical procedures to assist project managers and project leads • Work in collaborative teams to design practical tools such as data displays, summaries, and reports for decision-making in a variety of settings • Work with teams to write and present key research and evaluation findings to a variety of external audiences including researchers, practitioners, and policymakers • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external clients (including state and local education agencies), partners, and advisors • Serve as a project coordinator on small projects or tasks within larger projects • Develop human subjects institutional review board (HSIRB) and office of management and budget (OMB) proposals with supervision from Principal Investigator • Contribute to the development of new projects and proposals • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Education and Experience • Masters’ degree in education, public policy, research methods, applied social sciences or related field OR a bachelor’s degree w/ABD (All but Dissertation) status in a doctoral program in public policy, applied social sciences, or related field • Three years of demonstrated experience conducting and contributing to research projects Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of statistical analysis, mixed modeling, and longitudinal analysis in the social sciences • Skill in integrated quantitative and qualitative methods, interviews, focus groups, and/or classroom observation methods • Ability to communicate technical topics and research findings and methods to non-technical audiences using reports, visually appealing displays, summaries, and tools • Ability to communicate with clients verbally and in writing to explain study procedures, answer questions, and coordinate schedules and activities • Ability to assist clients in using research evidence and data to inform policy and practice • Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate with diverse professional staff, clients, and other stakeholders Preferred Experience • Ability to facilitate small- and large-group discussion and meetings Travel and Other Key Requirements • Periodic travel may be required. • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
