Job Description
A telemetry registered nurse (RN) position is available on a contract basis in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This role focuses on providing specialized cardiac and other critical patient care on telemetry units and involves adherence to facility protocols in a nicotine-free environment.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care to adult patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring
- Utilize electronic medical records systems, with training provided for Altera Sunrise (similar to Cerner)
- Float to other units as needed to support staffing demands
- Work every other weekend and observe holiday coverage unless time off is requested
- Attend a comprehensive orientation including two days at a tertiary care hospital and additional unit-specific clinical orientation
- Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN licensure
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in telemetry nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Experience with EMR systems advantageous, but training is provided
- New graduates are not eligible for this role due to required experience level
- Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts with bi-weekly pay
- Orientation includes no-bill shifts over initial 5 days
