We are looking for someone who will apply software engineering standard methodologies to a data platform via the utilization of version control, testing, validation, and continuous integration. Who you’re committed to being: • Eager to dive in to data sources to understand availability, utility, and integrity of our data • Passionate about data, analytics and automation with experience cleaning and modeling large quantities of raw, diverse, and disorganized data • Creator of reproducible and extensible work • Appreciate being on a team that values and encourages diverse ideas, backgrounds, and strengths • Carefully consider the ethical and security implications of choices you make when using data, as well as the impact of your work on customers and colleagues • Respect and invite fair feedback while promoting the identification and open discussion of errors, risks, and unintended consequences • Deeply understand existing and new technology trends, and you work with partners to review and recommend innovative and efficient solutions What you’ll do: • Building and maintaining production data pipelines for analytics across the business • Developing tooling and solutions for data practitioners across the company using a deep understanding of their objectives and problems • Improving observability and maintainability in our data platform, including uptime, usage, data quality, and data freshness • Committed to improving processes throughout the data environment via automation • Creating, implementing, and improving standards for production-worthy data flows • Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and help-related materials as applications are developed Experience you’ll bring: • Experience building CICD pipelines that automate IaC and artifact deployment using tools such as Terraform and Github Actions • Exposure to supporting AI and ML workflows and pipelines. • Experience managing systems containing sophisticated dependency management and orchestration requirements • Effective communication skills with technical team members as well as business partners • Ability to tackle problems independently and prioritize work based on the anticipated business value Requirements: • 5+ years of taking a multidisciplinary approach to data operations: we emphasize picking the right tool for the job • 5+ years of experience with cloud data technologies (Snowflake preferred) and data modeling standard methodologies. • 3+ years of experience automating a data platform with scripting tools (i.e. Python (preferred) Powershell, Bash) • 3+ years of experience with advanced orchestration tools (i.e. Airflow (preferred), Prefect, Dagster) • 3+ years of experience with tools for ingesting data (i.e. Fivetran (preferred), Stitch, Airbyte, Portable.io) and reverse ETL tools (i.e. Census, Hightouch). • 5+ years of experience developing, operating and maintaining data pipelines utilizing open source dbt core. • 5+ years of experience working in a cloud environment (AWS preferred) including technologies such as IAM, Lambda, RDS, AppFlow, Glue, EC2, and S3 among others • This is a remote role; however, applicants located within 45 miles of our Westlake/Dallas, TX office should expect to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.
