Job Title: Import / Export Specialist – Trade Compliance
Duration: 12+ Months (Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension)
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday – Friday)
Employment Type: Part-Time (25 hours per week)
Pay Range: $18/hr to $20/hr

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Import / Export Specialist – Trade Compliance to support international trade operations and ensure compliance with U.S. customs and export regulations. This role will work closely with internal teams and customs brokers to manage import/export documentation, support cross-border operations, and help maintain regulatory compliance.
This position is fully remote within the Mountain Time Zone. Candidates located near El Paso; TX are preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review import documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
Support tariff classification (HTSUS), country of origin determinations, and duty analysis.
Coordinate with customs brokers to resolve entry discrepancies and shipment holds.
Assist with export compliance activities, including ECCN classification, AES filings, and denied party screening.
Maintain accurate trade records and support internal compliance audits.
Monitor regulatory updates impacting import/export operations.
Collaborate with logistics, procurement, finance, and operations teams to ensure compliant trade execution.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–5 years of experience in import/export operations or trade compliance.
Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import/export documentation.
Experience with tariff classification (HTSUS) and country of origin.
Familiarity with export compliance processes such as AES filings or ECCN classification.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with USMCA or U.S./Mexico cross-border trade.
Experience working with customs brokers and government agencies.
Knowledge of export controls and trade compliance programs.
Trade compliance certifications such as C-TPAT or OEA are a plus.
