Job Description
Gig Description
I’m looking for a designer with strong editorial and typography skills to design a short
framework eBook and a series of companion reflection diaries.
This is a text-forward editorial project. All writing is complete. I need a designer who
can create a clean, elegant layout system and reusable template.
This project is part of a narrative nonfiction publishing project, so strong editorial
design is important.
Project Scope
- Design The Five Phases of Return framework eBook
- Create one master template
- Flow 11 Companion Diaries into the same template structure
All companion diaries will use the same layout system, so once the template is
complete the remaining documents will follow the same format.
Design Direction
Minimal, calm, and editorial.
The design should emphasize:
- beautiful typography
- generous white space
- thoughtful page structure
- a refined, book-like feel
This should feel closer to a literary guide or reflective journal, not a marketing
workbook or lead magnet.
Deliverables:
- Print-ready PDF files
- Editable source files (InDesign preferred)
- Reusable template used across the companion diaries
What I Provide
- All finalized text
- Brand fonts and color palette
- Design references and direction
Ideal Designer
You have experience designing:
- books
- journals or workbooks
- editorial publications
- typography-forward layouts
How to Apply
Please include:
- 3 examples of editorial or book layout work (not logos or social media graphics)
- The words “Editorial Design” at the top of your message so I know you read the brief.
Bonus if you have experience designing reflective journals, guided books, or
workbook-style publications
FYI: This is a mockup of a website where these books will be hosted for design reference. https://vc437484004251.coderick.net/
