Job Description

Deliver specialized care as a Registered Nurse on the Night Shift in a Telemetry/Cardiac Med unit, supporting patients with cardiac conditions and medical overflow. This contract opportunity offers flexible contract lengths between 8 to 26 weeks with guaranteed hours available at 36 or 48 hours weekly. The role requires accountability, strong teamwork, and clinical expertise in an acute care setting.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process to patients in a telemetry unit, including post-cardiac cath, atrial fibrillation, CHF, and stable MI patients
  • Manage cardiac drips, including insulin gtts, drip titration (nitroglycerin, Cardizem), precedex, and Bipap support
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality at all times
  • Adhere to dress code standards requiring black scrubs or M-wear
    Required Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice with at least 2 years’ experience in Step-down or ICU in acute care
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certifications
  • Competency with cardiac telemetry equipment and EMR systems (Epic)
  • Ability to manage complex medications and cardiac monitoring equipment
  • Flexibility and dependability with strong teamwork skills
    Facility & Unit Information:
  • Located in Webb City/Joplin, MO area, this Level 2 Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI Center has a CMS 3-Star rating and a Platinum Achievement Award for Chest Pain-MI care
  • Telemetry unit patient ratio: 1:6
  • Equipment includes IV pumps, GE monitoring systems, and glucometers
