We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while providing excellent service to our patients and insurance providers.
- Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical billing claims accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 for proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
- Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving any discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to billing or coding.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for managing patient records and billing information.
- Ensure all medical terminology is used correctly throughout the billing process.
- Assist in maintaining accurate medical records for auditing purposes.
- Skills
- Proficiency in DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and general medical coding practices.
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance claim submissions.
- Experience with medical collections and resolving billing disputes effectively.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation and communication.
