About the Role
The Community Engagement Advisor will provide strategic guidance on how Chicago House AC builds, nurtures, and sustains strong relationships with local communities, youth organizations, schools, nonprofits, and civic leaders.
This role is ideal for a connector, strategist, and community advocate who understands how to build trust, create access, and align sports with real neighborhood impact.
This is a strategic advisory position—not an operational day-to-day management role—but one that directly influences how the club shows up in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Community Strategy & Impact
- Advise on long-term community engagement strategy aligned with the club’s mission
- Identify priority neighborhoods and initiatives for meaningful outreach
- Help design programs that integrate soccer, mentorship, and social impact
Partnership Development
- Introduce and cultivate relationships with schools, nonprofits, youth programs, and community organizations
- Advise on collaborative initiatives and cross-sector partnerships
- Support development of community-based sponsorship and activation concepts
Equity & Inclusion Leadership
- Ensure programs authentically advance racial equity and inclusion
- Provide guidance on culturally responsive engagement practices
- Help embed inclusive values into club events and matchday experiences
Measurement & Accountability
- Recommend frameworks to measure community impact and engagement effectiveness
- Support development of reporting metrics for stakeholders and partners
- Provide feedback to ensure initiatives are sustainable and scalable
Ambassadorial Role
- Represent Chicago House AC at community events and initiatives when appropriate
- Serve as a trusted bridge between the club and neighborhood leaders
Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of experience in community engagement, nonprofit leadership, civic leadership, education, or social impact strategy
- Strong relationships within Chicago communities preferred
- Experience designing or advising on youth, sports-based, or equity-centered initiatives
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and neighborhood empowerment
- Strategic thinker with strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Passion for soccer and belief in sport as a catalyst for positive change
