Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Responsive, formerly RFPIO, is a leader in Strategic Response Management SaaS solutions, serving over 2,000 customers. The Solutions Consultant will leverage technical expertise in AI to drive sales, create compelling demos, and manage Proofs of Concept while collaborating with Account Executives and Managers.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical sales motion from discovery through close across new logo and expansion opportunities; build deal strategy jointly with sales using MEDDPICC
- Lead businessāvalue storytelling that resonates with executives and practitioners; translate requirements into value hypotheses and measurable success criteria
- Design and deliver credible AI proofsāprompting strategies, retrievalāaugmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, tool use/orchestration, and evaluationāwhile addressing safety, privacy, governance, and model drift
- Explain model choices and tradeāoffs (e.g., OpenAI/Anthropic/Vertex/Bedrock), embeddings/vector stores (e.g., Pinecone/Qdrant/FAISS), and guardrails against prompt injection and data leakage
- Deliver compelling firstā and secondācall demos and tailor deeper technical sessions by segment (SMB/MM) use selfāguided demo 'leaves' and analytics to shorten timeātoāprove
- Partner with Demo Engineering/Programs to keep environments and testādata fixtures reliable and reusable; log breakage and drive continuous improvement
- Scope POCs with clear acceptance criteria, timelines, and success metrics; manage stakeholders, risk, and ROI to maximize POCāclose conversion
- Support Account Managers on expansion plays by diagnosing adoption gaps, quantifying impact, and positioning roadmap/AI capabilities to unlock additional value
- Bring structured field feedback to Product and PMM; influence roadmap and messaging with evidence from enterprise evaluations and POCs
- Improve timeātoāqualified demo and overall deal conversion %, increase demo reuse rate, and maintain accurate technical stages and risks in forecast
Skills
- Master storyteller and value seller with strong command of MEDDPICC; able to connect technical depth to executiveālevel outcomes
- 1-3 years of presales experience in enterprise SaaS as a Solutions Consultant/Sales Engineer, successfully closing complex deals
- Handsāon Generative AI & Agentic AI expertise: prompting, RAG patterns, agent/tool orchestration, evaluation, and risk/safety controls; able to whiteboard architectures and tradeāoffs
- Demonstrated excellence designing and delivering tailored demos and POCs; disciplined in scoping, acceptance criteria, and success metrics
- Comfort with cloud and enterprise SaaS contexts (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP; data residency; SOC 2/ISO 27001; GDPR)
- Collaborative, dataādriven operator who inspects pipeline, documents technical risks, and executes with urgency
- Fluency with LLM platforms and tooling (e.g., OpenAI/Anthropic/Vertex AI/Bedrock; LangChain/LlamaIndex; Pinecone/Qdrant/FAISS)
- Experience with demo automation/analytics tools (e.g., Consensus) and conversational intelligence (e.g., Gong)
- Background in Strategic Response Management, proposal/RFP automation, or adjacent content/knowledge workflows
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., CS/Engineering/Information Systems) or equivalent experience
