Job Description
AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm dedicated to delivering a better world. The Civil Engineer will propose solutions to engineering challenges, conduct inspections, and ensure projects meet technical standards while supporting stormwater management design and project analysis.
Responsibilities
- Propose civil engineering solutions to new challenges through on-site construction inspections, monitor progress, and quality assurance to meet state, municipal, and technical standards
- Complete primary design elements and ensure projects align with budget and schedule expectations with minimal supervision
- Conduct design tasks and create sketches, diagrams, and working drawings
- Perform calculations
- Conduct on-site construction inspection for various projects, including roadway reconstruction, storm facility retrofits, and storm pond rehabilitation
- Review civil plans for designs, erosion and sediment control, drainage design and computations, and floodplain management
- Assist with stormwater management design and conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support project analysis and design
- Complete drainage design activities, including planning, storm sewer design, and conveyance design
- Support plan production and project bids by ensuring alignment with project specifications and regulatory standards
- Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study
- 1 year of experience as a Civil Engineer, Water Resources Engineer, or a related occupation
- Hydrology and hydraulic modeling and principles
- CAD software drafting using tools including Autodesk, and/or MicroStation
- Utilizing general stormwater and drainage modeling tools
- Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- GIS software applications, including ArcGIS and/or ArcMap
- Stormwater Management Design
- Drainage and Floodplain Analysis
- Construction Inspection, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control
- Performing plan reviews, project documentation, and bid preparation
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study with no experience
