Job Description
AECOM is a global infrastructure leader committed to delivering a better world. They are seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to provide specialized technical input to studies and designs, develop construction cost estimates, and perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings.
Responsibilities
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and designs for staff's specific areas of expertise
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing the discipline component of the PS&E package
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepares technical specification sections
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural engineering
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Structural/bridge engineering coursework
- Relevant job experience, work or internship, is a plus
- EIT/FE Certification or ability to obtain prior to the start date
- Experience as an Intern, Co-op, or other professional development
- Experience or education in reinforced concrete and/or structural steel design
- Ability to work with a diverse team located in the Piscataway, NJ
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines
- Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment
