Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Risk Manager with a strong background in insurance to join our team in New York, New York. This consulting position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and optimize risk management processes across multiple coverage areas. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in risk analysis, insurance management, and organizational risk mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with insurance brokers to evaluate market trends, define renewal strategies, and establish submission timelines.
- Manage the collection, validation, and analysis of risk exposure data across various lines of coverage.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments, monitor operational risks, and lead business continuity planning initiatives.
- Perform insurance-related due diligence for merger and acquisition activities, providing actionable insights.
- Review and negotiate insurance contracts and supplier agreements in partnership with Legal and Procurement teams.
- Maintain accurate records of total cost of risk and oversee the budgeting process for insurance-related expenses.
- Handle claims management, including addressing coverage questions and evaluating submissions for non-workers' compensation claims.
- Provide support for treasury functions such as payment processing and trade confirmations during designated periods.
- Oversee the issuance and management of Certificates of Insurance.
- Develop cost/benefit analyses for risk mitigation strategies to build organizational alignment.
- 10+ years of experience in risk management or related fields.
- Proficiency in risk analysis and developing comprehensive risk management frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) practices and due diligence processes.
- Expertise in risk management strategies across accident and commercial insurance.
- Familiarity with insurance contracts and coverage negotiation.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess and mitigate organizational risks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management related to insurance programs.
