A globally recognized General Contractor, headquartered in Chicago’s West Loop, is seeking an Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team.
With 100+ years of history, this firm combines long-standing stability with a strong pipeline of complex, high-profile work - all based locally in Chicago, so no travel is required.
Their diverse portfolio spans industrial, commercial, residential, hospitality, civil infrastructure, and more, with project values up to $500M, offering exposure to large-scale and technically challenging builds.
- What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates from conceptual through GMP stages
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope requirements
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids
- Develop budgets, value engineering options, and cost studies
- Collaborate with project management, field teams, and clients during preconstruction
- Support multiple projects across various sectors
- What We’re Looking For:
- 3–7+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor
- Experience estimating large-scale projects preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Ability to manage multiple estimates in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Up to $130,000 base salary
- Performance bonus

- Hybrid schedule - 2 days remote per week
- Half days on Fridays
- All projects local to Chicago - no travel required
