Job description: St. Mary School-Riverside is seeking a dedicated and passionate 4/5 Math Teacher to join our faculty. As a Math Teacher in our school, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters academic excellence and incorporates Catholic values into mathematics education.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Implement a comprehensive math curriculum for 4th and 5th-grade students in line with diocesan and state standards.
Create lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
Classroom Instruction:
Deliver engaging and interactive math lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical literacy.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that aligns with Catholic values and principles.
Assessment and Feedback:
Assess student progress through regular quizzes, tests, and assignments.
Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and areas for improvement.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a well-organized and conducive classroom environment.
Promote respectful and ethical behavior among students, instilling Catholic values of kindness, empathy, and responsibility.
Parent and Community Engagement:
Collaborate with parents to support students' academic and personal development.
Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and other community activities.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on best practices in mathematics education and Catholic education.
Attend professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
Teaching certification in elementary education and/or mathematics.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
