We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. This fully remote position involves providing specialized instruction and support to K-12 students with diverse learning needs across Alaska. Responsibilities:
ย Instruction: Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
ย IEP Development: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, setting goals and tracking progress.
ย Collaboration: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and other specialists to support students' academic and social-emotional growth.
ย Assessment: Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and abilities, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
ย Technology Utilization: Utilize virtual teaching tools and platforms to engage students in a remote learning environment.
ย Compliance: Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with state and federal special education regulations and guidelines.
ย Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
ย Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction.
Qualifications:
ย Bachelorยs degree in Special Education or a related field (Masterยs degree preferred).
ย Valid teaching certification in Special Education in the state of Alaska.
ย Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
ย Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
ย Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
ย Proficiency with virtual communication tools and technology.
ย Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
