School-Based Special Education Teacher
Blazer Jobs is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to work in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will create a supportive learning environment tailored to the diverse needs of students, empowering them to achieve academic, social, and developmental success.
Key Responsibilities:
ย Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific learning needs of students.
ย Modify and adapt general education curriculum to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
ย Provide small group or one-on-one instruction to ensure student progress and mastery of goals.
ย Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and families to provide an inclusive and supportive educational experience.
ย Monitor and assess student progress through data collection and prepare timely reports documenting their development.
ย Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development as required.
ย Foster a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment conducive to learning.
ย Use appropriate behavioral management strategies to address challenges and promote success in the classroom.
ย Ensure compliance with state and federal education laws and maintain accurate student records.
Requirements:
ย Bachelorยs degree in Education or a related field.
ย Active state teaching certification/licensure with an endorsement in special education (varies based on state).
ย Masterยs degree preferred but not required.
ย Previous experience working in a school-based environment is preferred.
ย Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation.
ย Exceptional communication, organizational, and collaboration skills to effectively support students and teams.
ย Ability to adapt and create lesson plans that accommodate student needs.
