Job Description
Seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Workers' Compensation Paralegal to manage case files, coordinate with all parties, and support attorneys from case initiation to settlement. This role requires strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Β Set up and maintain case files, ensuring all pending issues are addressed.
Β Communicate with applicants, attorneys, adjusters, and medical providers.
Β Prepare and file legal pleadings, petitions, and correspondence.
Β Obtain and manage medical, employment, and financial records.
Β Review medical and deposition reports and prepare summaries for attorneys.
Β Follow up on joinders, discovery, and settlement negotiations with defendants.
Β Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and status conferences.
Β Conduct corporate and insurance coverage searches.
Β Maintain accurate case notes, update databases, and submit reports.
Β Ensure compliance with deadlines and case filing requirements.
Qualifications:
Β BachelorΒs degree and/or Paralegal Certificate (ABA-accredited preferred) OR 1-2 years of legal experience.
Β Bilingual (English/Spanish) Β required.
Β Strong communication and organizational skills.
Β Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and LexisNexis.
Β Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage high-volume work.
Β Typing speed of at least 35 WPM.
