JOB SUMMARY
Under the general guidance of the Security Manager, assist in providing security for patents, employees, visitors and physicians; protects hospital buildings, assets and premise as assigned. Adheres to applicable state laws, follows Hendrick Medical Centerยs Policy & Security written job guides approved by the department of Security.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
ย High School or equivalent
Minimum Work Experience
ย 2 years relevant experience
ย The minimum age for Security Officer is 21 years of age by date of appointment.
Required Licenses / Certifications
ย Obtain and maintain a Level III Commissioned Security Officers state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within 8 weeks of employment.
ย Ability to pass written and physical PSB course of instruction (obtained within 6 months of employment)
ย A clear and active Texas Divers License
ย Maintain a clear police record
ย Ability to pass prescribed course(s) in weapon proficiency
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
ย Ability to deal effectively with community / consumers and hospital personnel.
ย Ability to handle confidential information.
ย Requires extreme diplomacy and tact.
ย Conduct basic investigations and interview others.
ย Operate security electronic equipment including CCTV and access control.
ย Handles emergency or crisis situations
ย Requires judgment or action that could potentially lead to the use of lethal force.
