Position Description
Our Engineer II is a key member of the Mobility Engineering Operations staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.
Position Responsibilities
As an Engineer II, you will:
ΓΒ Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems and maintains all websites and software applications.
ΓΒ Understands UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards.
ΓΒ Creates solutions for identified problems or bugs.
ΓΒ Executes assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
ΓΒ Designs assignments with web services like GO, REST, SOAP, etc.
ΓΒ Evaluates written code to ensure it meets industry standards and is compatible with all devices.
ΓΒ Develops and validates test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface.
ΓΒ Build product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution
ΓΒ Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
ΓΒ Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
ΓΒ Utilize programming languages like HTML, Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Dart, Python, C#, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services
ΓΒ Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
Qualifications
ΓΒ Programming experience with at least two modern languages such as Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, Dart, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
ΓΒ Experience using HTML, CSS, REST, GO, SOAP, etc
ΓΒ Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
ΓΒ In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
ΓΒ Understanding of existing Operational Portals such as Azure Portal
ΓΒ Understanding of micro-services architecture and extensible REST APIs
ΓΒ Understanding of monitoring tools
ΓΒ Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills
ΓΒ Intermediate level understanding of Azure Network such as security zones, VNETs, and Public Peered Services
ΓΒ Understanding of Azure PaaS and IaaS services
ΓΒ Understanding of security protocols and products such as: Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth
ΓΒ Experience in Datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings, including the Azure platform and its native services
ΓΒ Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)
ΓΒ Understanding of DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational Framework
ΓΒ Experience in Application Frameworks
ΓΒ Experience in Risk Assessment
ΓΒ Experience in Android Studio, XCode, VS Code, or a similar IDE
ΓΒ Experience in Application monitoring and performance assessment
ΓΒ Experience in Source code management and code versioning tools such as GIT
ΓΒ Experience in esign patterns MVC, Decorator, Abstract Factory, Chain of Responsibility
ΓΒ Experience with Gradle
ΓΒ Experience with building out a application store on Windows/Mac OS
ΓΒ Experience in Android Studio
ΓΒ Analysis and estimation skills
ΓΒ Strong problem-solving ability
ΓΒ Strong oral and written communication skills
ΓΒ Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
Experience
ΓΒ 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience within Mobile and Web frameworks/SDKs/languages such as HTML/GO/Kotlin/Java, Android SDK, XCode, React, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Flutter/Dart
ΓΒ 2+ years of experience with architecture and design
ΓΒ 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
ΓΒ 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
Education
ΓΒ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$34.74 - $160,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
