What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
ΓΒ Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, using modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques
ΓΒ Instruct and guide patients through functional activities, including bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities
ΓΒ Observe and follow treatment precautions, reporting any changes in patient responses to the appropriate medical staff
ΓΒ Document daily patient interventions and services provided in the acute care setting
ΓΒ Educate and train patients and caregivers, assessing their learning style preferences and responses
What Is Required (Qualifications)
ΓΒ Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice
ΓΒ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ΓΒ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ΓΒ Minimum of two years' technical experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
ΓΒ High School Education/GED or equivalent
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
ΓΒ Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
ΓΒ Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
