I'm looking for a detail-oriented beta reader to provide constructive, big-picture feedback on a completed holiday romance novel (~45,000 words).
The story is:
- Sweet, small-town, emotionally rich with light humor
- Focused on second chances, found family, and a touch of holiday magic
- Book 1 in a planned ongoing series of cozy, heartfelt holiday romances
- This is not a developmental or line edit. No copy editing or proofreading*.
I’m looking for a thoughtful reader’s perspective on:
- Emotional resonance: Do the character arcs land?
- Pacing and plot clarity: Does the story flow? Any slow/confusing parts?
- Character appeal: Who do you love, and who needs more depth?
- General strengths and weaknesses summary
- Bonus if you love: Hallmark-style romances, cozy towns, big-hearted stories, or seasonal reads.
Deliverables:
- In-line or margin comments (optional but welcome)
- A 1–2 page summary of overall impressions and feedback (big-picture focus)
Looking for turnaround within 7–10 days of receiving the manuscript. There are several more books planned in the coming weeks and months (1 completed manuscript every 2–3 weeks), so if you’re interested in recurring work, please indicate that in your proposal!
