We're seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team, working on a variety of electrical projects and providing top-notch service to our campus community. As a Journeyman Electrician, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of electrical systems, from installation and maintenance to repair and troubleshooting. About the Role:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems
- Work collaboratively with other crafts to complete projects and provide excellent customer service
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using test equipment and hand tools
- Develop a working knowledge of the UM Housing department's electrical system and obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification
- Research and order materials, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements:
- Ability to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, motors, equipment, appliances, and fixtures
- Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Experience with conduit, ducts, tract, and raceways, as well as wire installation and circuit sizing
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of safety rules and procedures related to the trade, including OSHA regulations
