Join Our Team of Aviation Experts: Lead Cargo Maintenance Technician - ULD We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cargo Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of our Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and galley equipment. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our operations. Our state-of-the-art facility in New York offers a comfortable and dynamic work environment, with a competitive salary starting at $61.02 per hour.

As a Lead Cargo Maintenance Technician - ULD, you will be responsible for:



  • On-site supervision and repair of over 22,000 ULDs and 60,000 galley equipment items

  • Maintenance support and regulatory compliance, including adherence to FAA regulations and Component Maintenance manuals

  • Partnering with equipment vendors for modifications and improvements to ensure safe and efficient operations

  • Conducting quality control and internal audits, as well as responding to and implementing corrective actions from external audits

  • Supervising the scrap and disposition of equipment and components that are considered Beyond Economic Repair (BER)

  • Engaging in maintenance tasks, inspecting repairs, and overseeing the repair workforce

  • Monitoring tool calibration schedules and following established shelf-life management procedures

  • Coordinating, scheduling, and repairing Galley Equipment and Unit Load Devices

  • Completing Delta's TechOps welding certification and engaging in the repair of pallets and containers

  • Overseeing the repair workforce at assigned stations and providing temporary support at other repair facilities as needed

  • Leading and pursuing the accomplishment of department and station performance goals

This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $61.02 per hour. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency

  • Authorization to work in the United States

  • A valid driver's license

  • Proficiency in English

  • An FAA Airframe (A) License

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and familiarity with the ULD industry

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective business partnerships

  • Ability to self-manage effectively, both operationally and strategically

  • Willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred qualifications include:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license

  • Understanding of FAR 121 and 145 repair certifications as it pertains to ULD repair

  • Prior leadership experience, including strong supervisory, mentoring, and coaching skills
