## Key Role Overview
This Animator role is for versatile CG Character Animators working on feature films at Disney's Burbank studios, with work beginning in April 2026. The position focuses on delivering vibrant, character-driven performances through strong acting, timing, weight, and appeal while collaborating closely with Directors and Animation Supervisors to complete shots to production schedule.
## What are the Key Responsibilities?
- Effectively tell the story through vibrant and compelling character acting and movement that reinforces and pushes the established style of the film.
- Develop a solid understanding of vital digital tools (such as Presto) to create high-quality animation for feature films and related projects.
- Receive assigned shots in sequence review with Directors, plan shots with story/character context, and block animation using the audio dialog track.
- Clearly show performance ideas and shot blocking in Director reviews (animation dailies) and closely collaborate with and take direction from Directors and Animation Supervisors.
- Regularly communicate progress, issues, and solutions with leadership and collaborators; implement changes and completely finish shots in accordance with the production schedule.
- Adapt to different stages within a production (development, production, etc.) and maintain an open, professional demeanor regarding direction and shifting requirements.
## What are the Required Qualifications?
- A demo reel no longer than 2 minutes of character animation that illustrates visual storytelling, believable expressions, emotional states, personality, appeal, entertainment, clear timing, weight, physics, balance, and staging.
- Proficiency in Presto, Maya, or equivalent animation software.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
## What are the Preferred Qualifications?
- Background in traditional hand-drawn, computer, or stop-motion animation is a plus.
## Compensation & Benefits
- The pay rate for this role in Burbank, California is $60.69 to $71.68 per hour.
- Pay follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement; base pay actually offered may vary based on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
