Job Overview
Work schedule: 2nd Shift, 2pm - 10:30pm (may need to be flexible), weekends/holidays per business needs.
The Supervisor, Quality Assurance (QA) will lead and develop assigned quality personnel and provide guidance for cross-functional teams to support the quality and food safety requirements of the products produced and shipped from their location. This role also supports and enforces the certification, regulatory, customer, and brand requirements as outlined by the business and implements continuous improvement projects to meet these requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
รย Supervise, lead, and motivate a team on the manufacturing floor and QA Lab to deliver results by communicating company goals; including quality and customer satisfaction, safety practices, and deadlines
รย Engage and develop teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training
รย Implement continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus, and embody company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership
รย Manage and support the Consolidated Management System (CMS) program that ensures company quality assurance specifications, and regulatory requirements are met; understand and support the documentation, training, and organizational requirements for maintaining a globally recognized quality and food safety certification; serve as the program owner, and perform internal audits of the program elements
รย Manage the processing of laboratory data, monitor the data for accuracy through exception reporting, analyze the data, recognize unfavorable trends, and makes process improvement recommendations
รย Support and assist in audits from internal and external regulatory, certification, customer, and or brand owner sources
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
รย Manufacturing experience and Food Industry knowledge
รย Familiarity with lab equipment and testing within a manufacturing environment
รย Math and analytical skills and problem-solving ability
รย Computer skills including MS Office, statistical software, SAP, Kronos preferred
รย Knowledge of sanitation and beverage processes
รย Familiar with High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) Technology
รย Knowledge of microbial and aseptic techniques
รย Ability to multitask in team development, time management, and effective communication skills
รย Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work based on business needs
รย Ability to stand for extended periods of time; walking manufacturing floor; climbing stairs, and lift, up to 25lbs
Minimum Qualifications
รย Associateรยs degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
รย Knowledge acquired through 1 - 3 years of work experience
รย Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Health Sciences
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or experience in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Health Sciences
Work Environment
Noisy, wet, and extreme temperature environment
