Job Description

New York Life Insurance Company is evolving into a more technology-, data-, and AI-enabled organization. They are looking for a Developer Engineer (Full Stack) to implement integration solutions for insurance applications in the cloud, focusing on the development of integration solutions and collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities

  • Develop integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Spring Boot, Java, and Python
  • Create reusable integration components, services, and RESTful APIs that adhere to best practices and organizational standards
  • Integrate with various data sources, including databases, web services, messaging systems, and third-party applications
  • Develop and maintain microservices using Spring Boot, ensuring seamless integration with other components and services
  • Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces and robust server-side logic
  • Collaborate with other developers and technical teams to implement solutions aligned with architectural guidelines and best practices
  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI services into applications (e.g., chat, summarization, search, automation)
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and LLMs to solve business problems and improve existing systems
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and integration testing to ensure solution quality and effectiveness
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Skills

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience developing, testing, and operationalizing integration solutions using Agile methodologies
  • Experience implementing RESTful APIs
  • Experience with back-end technologies such as Java, Node.js, Python, or .NET
  • Understanding of database technologies such as Oracle, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
  • Understanding of messaging technologies such as Kafka and Amazon MQ
  • Experience with code repositories and project tools such as Git and JIRA
  • Ability to develop APIs, write unit test cases, and perform unit testing
  • Understanding of existing and emerging API standards and secure coding practices
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Ability to learn emerging technologies and apply them to business solutions
  • Ability to innovate responsibly using AI while understanding model limitations
  • Ability to evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-directed, collaborative team player with effective time-management skills
