JOB DESCRIPTION The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for defining and executing the technical vision and strategy of the Technology vertical while driving technological innovation and excellence across the entire industry. This role involves building and mentoring high-performing teams, setting industry technical vision, and leading the industry’s technology and delivery organizations to ensure excellence. The CTO will develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap, partner with clients to co-create innovative solutions, and oversee the design and successful delivery of industry-specific solutions. Additionally, the CTO serves as Apex’s technology thought leader in the industry, maintaining strategic industry partnerships, and ensuring internal cross-functional collaboration to support to these initiatives. Strategic Technology Leadership tDevelop and execute a comprehensive, forward-looking technology roadmap tailored to the specific industry, aligning with business goals, market trends, and client needs. tLeads sales enablement initiatives to include training and mentoring the industry sales team so they are equipped to drive industry solutions to the market. Client Engagement & Innovation tPartner with clients to understand their challenges and opportunities and engage directly with them to co-create innovative solutions leveraging emerging technologies. tServe as a trusted advisor on digital transformation. Solution & Product Delivery tOversee the design and delivery of industry-specific IT solutions, ensuring technical excellence, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards. tTake accountability for the successful delivery of solution projects, meeting timelines, budgets, and quality standards. tLead the development of industry-specific platforms and reusable assets, integrating product management principles into solution design. Operational Leadership, Collaboration, & Ecosystems Management tWork closely with Sales, Delivery, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of technology initiatives. tCultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry players, including hyperscalers, startups, and academic institutions. tEnsure alignment with partner channels, such as Microsoft industry verticals, to enhance solution offerings and market reach. tRepresent the company as a technology thought leader through speaking engagements, white papers, and participation in industry forums and conferences tOversees the Technology and Delivery Executives and may play a TE and/or DE roll. tServe as leader of the industry practice and in some cases, directly manage a team of Specialty Internal Practice Consultants (Specialty IPCs); a high-performing team of technologists and architects focused on industry innovation and delivery excellence. tCoaches team on consultative selling, delivery and technical leadership, instilling a sense of ownership and accountability in meeting their goals. tProvides leadership in industry practices, setting standards and driving best practices across the organization. JOB REQUIREMENTS tProven experience as a CTO, Technology Leader, or equivalent role in an IT Services or consulting environment. t15+ years of progressive experience in both the Technology domain and technology leadership, with 5+ years in senior executive roles. t5+ years’ experience building, developing, and leading an Industry focused team of technical consultants. tBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred. tRelevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise architecture, or industry-specific frameworks. tDeep understanding of technology trends, challenges, and opportunities within a specific industry vert
