- What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately enter ABS data with a target accuracy of 95% or higher
- Meet or exceed bill drop dates and manage accounts receivable effectively
- Report principal diagnosis in accordance with AHA Coding Clinic and ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS guidelines with 95%+ accuracy
- Generate appropriate queries based on clinical evidence in patient records
- Maintain established productivity standards, averaging 2 accounts per hour
- What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- CCS or CPC certification
- Minimum of three years of hospital inpatient coding experience
- Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia state employment requirements
- Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
- Additional certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCA, COC, CIC, or CPA-A
- Familiarity with Augusta Health's systems, workflows, or organizational culture
- Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare system
- Experience in a service-oriented environment
