Community Manager - Internal Audit and SOX
The Internal Audit Collective (IAC) is the leading private community for Internal Audit and SOX professionals who want to stay at the forefront of the profession. Our members include staff auditors, audit managers, CAEs, and SOX leaders from companies across North America and the world who come together to share ideas, solve problems, and build stronger audit functions.
As our community continues to grow, we are looking for a Community Manager with Internal Audit and SOX experience who will help cultivate engagement, facilitate knowledge sharing, and ensure our members receive exceptional value from the Collective.
This role is ideal for an experienced Internal Audit Senior or Internal Audit / SOX Manager who enjoys connecting people, facilitating discussions, helping advance the profession, and a strong passion for Internal Audit and SOX compliance.
Role Overview
The Community Manager will serve as a visible and trusted presence within the Internal Audit Collective, helping members engage with one another, learn from one another, and contribute valuable resources back to the community.
The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys Internal Audit and SOX work and takes pride in the profession. Because the Internal Audit Collective is built around peer collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Community Manager should have a natural enthusiasm for discussing audit methodology, internal controls, and emerging topics impacting the profession.
This individual will play a key role in organizing community events, facilitating discussions, encouraging knowledge sharing, and helping shape the Collective’s thought leadership.
Given the visibility of the role within the community, this position may also involve facilitating discussions or participating in webinars and community events.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Events and Programming
- Help design and manage the Internal Audit Collective’s community event calendar, coordinating approximately 10–15 community events per month.
- Identify and recruit community members to facilitate roundtables, discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Coordinate preparation and logistics with event facilitators.
- Organize transcripts and key takeaways from community discussions and share relevant insights with members.
- Community Engagement
- Maintain a helpful and active presence within the Internal Audit Collective platform.
- Respond to member questions and encourage thoughtful discussion.
- Connect members with others in the community who may be well-positioned to share insights or solutions.
- Foster an environment where members feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and contributing knowledge.
- Knowledge and Resource Contributions
- Drive increased member contributions of data analytics, AI use cases, audit templates, and methodology resources.
- Conduct direct outreach to members to encourage knowledge sharing.
- Help design and manage initiatives or campaigns to increase community contributions.
- Community Communications
- Take ownership of the Collective’s internal communication channels.
- Ensure members stay informed about:
- Upcoming community events
- Training programs and courses
- New thought leadership and resources
- Key discussions happening within the community.
- Advisory Groups and Thoughtleadership
- Help coordinate and manage Internal Audit Collective advisory groups and working committees.
- Support initiatives designed to advance thought leadership across Internal Audit, SOX, AI, and data analytics.
- Help synthesize insights from these groups into valuable resources for community members.
- Webinars and Public Events
- Help organize Internal Audit Collective webinars that are open to the broader audit and risk community.
- Coordinate speaker preparation and event logistics.
- Occasionally assist with facilitating or participating in webinars or community discussions.
- Required Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in Internal Audit, SOX, or internal controls
- Experience as an Internal Audit Senior, Internal Audit Manager, or SOX Manager
- Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk management, and internal control environments.
- Professional Strengths
- Passion for the Internal Audit and SOX profession and a genuine interest in engaging with other professionals in the field
- Naturally curious about how audit teams operate and how the profession continues to evolve
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to build relationships across a diverse professional community
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Interest in emerging areas such as AI and data analytics in Internal Audit
