Job Description
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to support the financial requirements of the Tarboro Plant operations. This position is responsible for the Tarboro Plant cost management, general ledger, profit by product reporting, and fixed asset management. This position will prepare reports for upper management and other Astemo locations. The associate in this position must be able to ensure all local, state, and federal laws and regulations comply with functional areas. This position will coordinate and recommend cost savings and efficiency ideas for the organization. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working closely with the Finance & Accounting team and plant operations personnel. This position will have some remote capabilities, but in-person work may be required to best support the Tarboro plant. Because of this, the ideal candidate will reside within commuting distance from the Tarboro, NC facility.
- Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cost management / Product Costing: 25%
- Fixed asset management: 25%
- Monthly closing and reporting: 15%
- Corporate performance reporting & analysis: 10%
- Account reconciliations: 10%
- Other duties as assigned: internal & external reporting, budgeting & forecasting, conducting physical inventory, JSOX & financial audit support, etc.: 15%
- Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
- 4-year College Degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics and/or Business
- Minimum of 2 years of work-related experience in cost accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skillset
- Data interpretation and analysis skills
- Understanding of GAAP/IFRS
- Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
- Knowledge of Glovia and/or SAP; overall financial modeling and systems understanding
- Prior work-related experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Prior work-related experience with fixed asset management
- Knowledge of Fixed Asset Software (FAS-Sage)
