Job Overview
We are seeking experienced court transcriptionists to provide real-time, verbatim transcription of legal proceedings, hearings, and trials. The role requires a high level of accuracy, speed, and confidentiality. Assignments may be conducted remotely or on-site at various court locations.
Key Responsibilities
Β Provide live verbatim transcription during legal proceedings
Β Accurately capture spoken content, legal terminology, and dialogue
Β Use specialised transcription software and equipment
Β Ensure transcripts meet legal accuracy and formatting standards
Β Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to GDPR compliance
Β Work under time-sensitive conditions with minimal errors
Requirements
Β Experience: Minimum 2 years in court or legal transcription
Β Typing Speed: At least 80-100 WPM with high accuracy
Β Equipment: Own steno machine or transcription software (preferred)
Β Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with court terminology and procedures
Β Certifications: NRCPD, CIOL, or similar (preferred but not required)
Β Availability: Flexible, with the ability to commit to live court sessions
Β Security Clearance: DBS check or willingness to obtain one
Β Travel: Willingness to travel for on-site assignments (preferred)
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $23.22 - $27.97 per hour
Expected hours: 20 Β 40 per week
