Job Description
Customer Operations & Inside Sales Specialist
Remote (California Only) | $22–$24/hour | Full‑Time
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt
About Us
We are a growing pest control company built on a foundation of strong values and an exceptional team culture. Our core values — Integrity, Excellence, Service, Family, Growth, Accountability, and Teamwork — aren't just words on a wall. They shape every interaction we have with our customers, our partners, and each other.
We offer competitive pay, paid vacation, and a retirement plan with company matching — but honestly, our culture is one of the best benefits we offer. We're a company that genuinely cares about the people on our team.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a Customer Operations & Inside Sales Specialist to join our newer service division. This is a dynamic, multifaceted role that blends inside sales, outbound follow‑up, customer service, and logistics/routing — all from the comfort of your home office.
This is not a traditional role with a step‑by‑step playbook handed to you on day one. We are a team that is growing and evolving, and we're looking for someone who is energized — not intimidated — by that. You will be learning alongside us, and in some areas, you'll be expected to take initiative, ask questions, and help identify solutions, with support and guidance from leadership.
If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, love talking to people, are highly organized, and want the opportunity to be considered for future growth into a team lead or management role as the division expands, this is the opportunity for you.
- What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Functions)
- Inside Sales: Convert inbound leads and inquiries into booked services through friendly, consultative conversations
- Outbound Follow‑Up: Make proactive outbound calls to follow up with prospects, past customers, and pending estimates
- Customer Service: Be the voice of our company — handling customer inquiries, resolving concerns, and delivering a best‑in‑class experience on every interaction
- Routing & Scheduling: Manage daily technician routes and scheduling with accuracy and efficiency, optimizing for geography and time
- Account Management: Maintain detailed, accurate customer records in our systems — precision matters
- Multitasking: Balance concurrent responsibilities like live phone calls, routing updates, CRM entry, and outbound outreach without dropping the ball
- Process Building: As part of a newer division, you'll help identify gaps, develop workflows, and contribute to building a well‑run operation
- Who You Are
- You are independently productive. Working remotely doesn't slow you down — you're self‑motivated, reliable, and accountable without someone looking over your shoulder.
- You are a natural on the phone. You have a warm, professional phone presence that makes customers feel heard, valued, and confident. Sales conversations feel natural to you.
- You are detail‑oriented. Whether it's routing accuracy, account notes, or scheduling logistics, you catch the things others miss.
- You are adaptable and a self‑starter. You don't need (or expect) every process to be perfectly defined for you. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, asking smart questions, and figuring things out.
- You are tech‑savvy. You're comfortable working digitally all day — CRM systems, scheduling software, communication tools — and you pick up new platforms quickly.
- You are a multitasker. You can field a live call, update a route, log a note, and queue up an outbound call without missing a beat.
- You have leadership potential. You think beyond your individual role and are interested in growing as the business evolves.
- Requirements
- Proven experience in inside sales, customer service, or a similar phone‑based role
- Strong verbal communication skills — clear, warm, and professional
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with computers, CRMs, and digital communication tools
- Reliable home office setup with stable internet connection
- Self‑directed work ethic — you don't need micromanagement to perform
- Comfortable working in an evolving environment where not all processes are defined yet
- Ability to accurately track and record all hours worked in accordance with company policy and California law
- Nice to Have
- Experience with scheduling, dispatching, or logistics/routing
- Background in field services, home services, or pest control
- Prior experience in a remote work environment
- Leadership or team lead experience
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
This is a remote, primarily sedentary role that requires prolonged periods of sitting, speaking on the phone, and working at a computer, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain focus in a fast‑paced environment.
Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $22–$24/hr to start, with room for growth as the role and division expand
- Schedule: Full‑time, remote (California residents only)
- Classification: Non‑Exempt; eligible for overtime in accordance with California law
- Paid vacation, including paid sick leave in accordance with California law
- Retirement plan with company matching
- A genuinely great company culture grounded in Integrity, Excellence, Service, Family, Growth, Accountability, and Teamwork
Timekeeping, Overtime & Remote Work
All hours worked must be accurately recorded in accordance with company policy and California wage‑and‑hour laws. Overtime requires prior approval but will be paid if worked.
This role is remote; however, the company reserves the right to modify job duties, schedule, or work location based on business needs.
Business Expense Reimbursement (California Labor Code §2802)
The company will reimburse employees for all necessary and reasonable business expenses incurred in the course of performing job duties, in accordance with California law.
A Note on This Role
We want to be upfront: this division is newer, and that means there will be moments where the answer isn't in a manual yet. We're building something together. The right person for this job sees that as exciting — a chance to make an impact, help shape how things are done, and grow with the company as a result. If you're looking for a perfectly buttoned‑up operation where everything is already figured out, this may not be the right fit. But if you want to be part of building something great, we'd love to meet you.
Employment Relationship
Employment with the company is at will, meaning either the employee or the company may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law.
Equal Opportunity Employer
We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
