Job Description
American Family Insurance is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support and enhance the organization’s network security posture. This role focuses on the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security technologies, requiring effective communication and a commitment to continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the development, integration, and testing of cyber products
- Participate in the research, engineering, and integration new security solutions
- Participates in the development and maintenance of the security systems and solutions
- Builds strong relationships with peers across functions through collaborative engineering operations and initiatives
- Participate in the design, and implementation of automated solutions to enable security needs
- Manages, analyzes and responds to the changing system and data access needs of the company and our clients with agility and flexibility
Skills
- Basic understanding of network security principles, protocols, and architectures
- Familiarity with Palo Alto firewall configuration, management, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with endpoint protection platforms
- Knowledge of VPN technologies and secure remote access solutions
- Awareness of threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and incident response processes
- Basic understanding of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
- Ability to implement and enforce security policies and procedures
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaborating with team members
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
