Job Description

Amentum is seeking engineers to join their DOD R&D technology development team. The role involves coding, optimizing, and building software in an R&D setting, primarily using C++ or Java, while collaborating with government customers.

Responsibilities

Developing graphical user interfaces for local tools with the team of users
Developing software updates using C++, Rational Team Concert, GitLab and other DevOps tools
Supporting test events through travel opportunities which vary, depending on the role assigned

Skills

Bachelor's Degree (in one of these: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Electrical Engineering, or Physics) from an accredited university
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start). Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance
Knowledge in definition and management of software requirements, design, code, benchmark testing, debugging, software development life-cycle, architecture, and documentation
Plans, performs, and leads software design, coding, and testing
Experience in an Agile software development environment and familiarity with Agile methodologies
Ability to Commute: to Fredericksburg, or Dahlgren, VA (1 hour south of Washington D.C.)
