Job Description

CalRecycle is California’s Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, dedicated to advancing recycling and waste management programs. The Environmental Scientist role involves implementing initiatives to reduce plastic pollution and improve environmental health in California through regulatory frameworks and cross-divisional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Help implement the Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act to protect our environment
Regulate the use of single use packaging and plastic food service wares in California
Reduce plastics going into landfills and the ocean, shift the burden of managing waste from local governments to businesses, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Skills

Possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License (CDL)
Answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application
Provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions
Meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s)
Submit a current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 or the Electronic State Employment Application
Include all Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification
Complete a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for this recruitment
