Job Description
Fashion Technology Architect
Location: Remote with periodic travel to Costa Mesa, CA
About the Role
The Fashion Technology Architect is the most critical hire for this engagement. You will be the person who makes AI-generated design output manufacturable β the bridge between a generative design concept and a factory-ready tech pack. Without you, nothing ships.
What You Will Do
- Own the end-to-end 3D virtual sampling workflow using CLO 3D or Browzwear β from design input to production-ready digital prototype
- Work directly with the clientβs design lead to translate aesthetic concepts into precise technical specifications
- Configure and operate AI-assisted tech pack generation tools, eliminating manual authoring from the design-to-factory handoff
- Evaluate and recommend the right tool stack for the design and product development chevron of the pilot
- Document every process decision so the workflow is repeatable across categories and brands
- Be present and responsive as a full-time embedded member of the tiger team β this is not an advisory role
What You Need
- Hands-on, production-level proficiency in CLO 3D, Browzwear, or Style3D β certification preferred, demonstrated project delivery required
- Direct experience deploying virtual sampling at a fashion brand or manufacturer β you must be able to name the brand and describe the outcome
- Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern-making, and tech pack standards β enough to catch errors before they reach a factory
- Familiarity with AI design generation tools (The New Black, Refabric, Adobe Firefly, or equivalent)
- Comfortable working in a clean-sheet environment β you will be asked to ignore how the industry currently does things and help design something better
- Experience working in small, fast-moving teams; no appetite for large agency or corporate consulting structures
What You Do Not Need
- A background in traditional fashion consulting or apparel brand management β the client has explicitly said this is a liability, not an asset
- Experience with SAP, large ERP systems, or enterprise transformation programs β that is Phase 2
Location & Commitment
Co-located with the tiger team in Costa Mesa, CA for the initial 90-day sprint. Remote-async thereafter. Full-time commitment required β this role operates on a startup cadence, not a consulting project cadence.
