Financial Reporting-Workday Adaptive Planning Consultant Engagement Type: Contract / Project-Based Duration: Estimated 3–6 months Location: Remote (U.S.-based candidates only) Industry: Construction / Professional Services Start: ASAP Project Overview Our client is seeking a senior-level Financial Planning-Workday Adaptive Planning consultant to lead a financial reporting redesign initiative. This is a hands‑on project role, focused on rebuilding and standardizing reporting within Adaptive Planning after several years of incremental changes. The underlying financial data and ERP integrations are stable. The core challenge is report structure, consistency, usability, and executive readiness. This is not a staff augmentation or learning role — the client is looking for an experienced professional who can assess, design, and execute independently with minimal oversight. Key Responsibilities • Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand reporting needs across Finance, Executive Leadership, and Banking • Assess existing Adaptive Planning reports and archive legacy outputs • Design and rebuild standardized reporting frameworks from the ground up • Create clear distinctions between: • Executive summary reports • Detailed finance reports • Bank / covenant reporting • Ensure consistency in: • Report formats • Variance logic • Visual presentation • Partner periodically with internal finance leadership for alignment and validation • Deliver documentation and a sustainable structure for internal maintenance Required Qualifications • Extensive hands‑on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning (formerly Adaptive Insights) • Strong finance and accounting background (Senior Manager, Controller, or EPM consulting level) • Proven ability to design reporting frameworks from scratch • Experience supporting executive and/or lender reporting • Comfortable working independently in a project‑based environment • U.S.-based (no offshore resources) Preferred (Not Required) • Construction or project‑based accounting exposure (WIP, POC) • Experience with Dynamics 365 or UKG integrations • Prior consulting or transformation project experience Why This Project • High visibility, high impact engagement • Clear mandate to “do it right the first time” • Competitive hourly rate for the right expertise • Minimal bureaucracy and decision‑makers closely involved Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
