The Global Mobility Specialist is responsible for managing the US employment-based permanent residence processes, providing guidance to stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and government requirements.
Responsibilities
- Advise managers and stakeholders on eligibility, strategy, timing, responsibilities, costs, and company policy for employment-based permanent residence (PERM, I-140, adjustment of status)
- Manage the end-to-end green card case lifecycle for assigned population, including consultation, assessment, case tracking, documentation collection, filing coordination, and finalization
- Act as primary day-to-day contact for the external immigration vendor and coordinate with outside counsel as needed; set expectations, monitor deliverables, and escalate issues
- Maintain and update case tracking and ticketing systems timely
- Develop and maintain internal documentation, and standard operating procedures related to US permanent residence processes
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, working with legal counsel to address compliance or complex issues
- Support compliance activities including document signature and physical postings
- Support audits and data requests related to immigration records and maintain confidential records in accordance with privacy and retention policies
- Participate in cross-functional projects (Total Rewards, Global Mobility) to ensure immigration-related initiatives are solutioned
Skills
- 1-3+ years of direct experience managing US employment-based permanent residence processes in a corporate global mobility, HR, or immigration vendor/firm setting
- Applied knowledge of US visas, and working knowledge of DOL and USCIS rules and timelines
- Experience coordinating with external immigration vendors and/or outside counsel; proven vendor-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical immigration concepts to non-experts and draft clear guidance
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with case management systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business, legal studies, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience in a global tech company with multi-state US operations
- Experience with HRIS and/or technology platforms (SharePoint, case management)
- Project management experience and process-improvement orientation
