Telecom Site Survey Technician
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Hartford, CT
Work Setup: Hybrid - In the office/field 3-4 days a week, and remote 1-2 days per week
Our client is a rapidly expanding telecommunications provider focused on delivering reliable broadband and network infrastructure solutions. The Telecom Site Survey Technician will conduct detailed site assessments in multi-dwelling and multi-tenant buildings to support efficient service deployment and infrastructure planning.
- Telecom Site Survey Technician Responsibilities
- Perform on-site surveys within MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) and multi-tenant properties
- Identify and assess coaxial and Ethernet junction points and existing structured cabling
- Access and open locked enclosures using appropriate hand tools when necessary
- Safely work on ladders and access flat rooftops via hatches as required
- Schedule site visits and coordinate directly with property owners and building management
- Create simple technical designs illustrating building layout and recommended equipment placement
- Capture site photos and document findings to support installation planning
- Provide clear recommendations for telecom equipment installation, pathway routing, and service activation Telecom Site Survey Technician Qualifications
- Required:
- Hands-on experience with coaxial and/or Ethernet cabling
- Experience working in telecommunications, broadband, or low-voltage environments
- Comfortable working at heights, including ladders and rooftops
- Ability to generate simple layout drawings or installation diagrams
- General knowledge of building construction and infrastructure
- Strong communication skills for working with property owners and stakeholders Preferred:
- Experience with structured cabling design and network infrastructure planning
- Familiarity with MDU deployments and telecom distribution systems
- Basic documentation and reporting proficiency
